I recently got a dell xps 1330 and decided to remove the bloatware using the instructions on It all went ok using the driver cd's provided by dell however I am aware that there are some drivers that have to be downloaded directly from the Dell website (eg nVidia, fingerprint driver). My problem is that I have no idea which ones I actually need to download because there are so many listed and I don't know which are suitable for my computer. Could anyone tell me which ones I should download? Is there a list?

The dell site is confusing because there are so many to choose from- eg which wireless I don't know if it is necessary to know this, but I have the xps 1330, T9300, 4GB Dual-channel, 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive, 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS, Intel® 4965 Wireless-N Mini-card Many thanks. Hmm, well I updated drivers on the Dell site yesterday (hadn't done this since receiving the laptop, although I had been doing Windows Update). Prior to doing this I had two drivers that were on Vista SP1's incompatibility list (Sigmatel HD Audio, and UPEK Fingerprint Sensor). Dell's update thing only updated the audio to an acceptable level for SP1. So I went to the and got the most recent fingerprint driver (build 111 - Vista SP1 requires at least build 99). SP1 shows up in Windows Update about 10 minutes later (it didn't immediately upon refresh).
Installed it this morning in about 40 minutes, after having downloaded the 65MB installer last night. Seems to be working fine so far.
